Federation of Library Associations and Institutions / Committee on
Free Access to Information and Freedom of Expression (IFLA-FAIFE)
cordially invite you to attend the INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON
INFORMATION ACCESS: INTERNET AND LIBRARIES to be held at the City
Garden Suites, 1158 A. Mabini St., Ermita, Manila on July 23-25, 2008.
The conference aims to:
1. inform participants on what the IFLA-FAIFE Internet Manifesto is
2. discuss the relationships among freedom to access to information,
the Internet and Libraries and Information Services;
3. discuss barriers to the flow of information and how these barriers
can be removed;
4. discuss strategies, policies, and plans that implement the
principles expressed in the Internet Manifesto;
5. discuss current policies and practices of Philippine Internet use.
Towards these ends, we have lined up interesting topics to be
discussed by experts in the field including concerned IFLA-FAIFE
officials. We have also invited local experts to talk about policies
on Internet use in libraries in the Philippines.
Conference fee is Ph4,000.00 to cover snacks, lunches, conference kit
and papers, and certificates. Interested parties are requested to
