PATLS General Assembly and Forum on May 28, 2008

Please be informed that the PATLS General Assembly and Forum originally set for May 14 has been reset to May 28, 9-12am, UP School of Library and Information Studies.

We have a new set of PATLS Board Members and May 14 is not convenient for a number of them due to the fact that Summer sessions in some of the schools are not yet over.

We are sorry for any inconvenience this might cause you but we hope to see you on the 28th.

School of Library and Information Studies, Gonzales Hall, University of the Phillippines Diliman, Quezon City. There will also be a short forum on the implications of RA 9246 on LIS education in the Philippines.

May we invite you to this occasion that will also give you a chance to renew your membership and be involved in the activities of the Association.

Greetings!

Attached is the valid Official Ballots for the Election of the New Set of Officers for the year 2008-2009 of the Philippine Association of Teachers of Library and Information Science, Inc. Kindly tick the boxes corresponding to nine (9) candidates of your choice and be counted.

Please find the attached self-stamped mailing envelope for the ballot or personally hand carry it to the PLAI Office at Room 301, The National Library Building, T.M. Kalaw St., Manila or through any of the members of the Executive Board. A ballot box shall be made available at TNL. The official counting of votes shall be on May 07, 2008, 10:00 A.M. at the same venue.

Winning candidates shall be posted and inducted on May 14, 2008, held from 9:00 A.M. to 12:00 Noon, at the School of Library and Information Studies, University of the Philippines, Diliman, Quezon City during the General Assembly simultaneously with a Forum (registration is free of charge with certificate) entitled, "Implications of R.A. 9246 on LIS Education," an update and clear interpretation, which we felt and believed would be of utmost interest to all teaching faculty of schools offering the curriculum.

Your participation and cooperation shall further enhance the association's continuous struggle in its effort to uplift our profession.
