“Enhancing the Basic Skills in School Librarianship”

to be held on October 22-24, 2008 at

Bulwagang Teodulfo Domingo,

University of Saint Louis

Tuguegarao City, Cagayan

Rationale

The Library is an indispensable unit in any school. As the center for educational advancement, the library should provide adequate services to cater to the information need of its users. However, with the dearth of professional librarians today, school libraries are left behind. People who take charge of the library do not have the intellectual know-how of the proper management, organization and care of library materials. Therefore, a need to enhance the basic skills in school library management is needed to improve the services of the library.
