Upcoming PLAI-CaVRLC Seminar and GA 2010

To All Members of the PLAI-CaVRLC:

Please be informed that our Seminar and General Assembly will be held between June to September 2010. Please suggest topics/themes you want us to offer. You can also pick any of the following: A) Information Literacy in Libraries; B) Library Policy Making; C) Library Development Plan; D) Innovative Library Services; E) Library Automation Using Low-Cost Library Software; F) Benchmarking in Libraries; G) others

On the last day of the seminar will be our General Assembly. This year we will have election of officers. Please elect President who is:
*capable to represent us
*responsible leader determined to uplift our fellow librarians in the Region
*determined to uplift our profession
*financially capable to attend PLAI Board Meetings

Please ask permission to the person whom you want to elect or nominate as our PLAI-CaVRLC President.

To the PLAI-CAVRLC NOMELEC Chairman and Members, please be ready with this activity. Please prepare the procedure during the election process. Refer it to our PLAI By-Laws.

DEAR MEMBERS:

Please take notice that the Philippine Association of Academic and Research Librarians (PAARL) will hold its Annual General Assembly on the 29th of January 2010, Friday, 8:30 a.m-12:00 noon at St. Paul University, 3rd Street corner Gilmore Ave., Quezon City with the following Agenda:

• Call to order
• Determination of Presence of Quorum
• Approval of the minutes of Last Year’s Annual General Meeting
• Annual Report of the President
• Treasurer’s Report
• Report on the Election of the Board of Directors for the Year 2010
• Proposed amendments to the Constitution and By-Laws
• Other Matters as may be properly brought before the Meeting
• Adjournment

The Induction of the new Executive Board for 2010 and the Awarding Ceremonies will proceed immediately after the General Assembly.

Registration fee will not be charged to attendees but members are enjoined to renew/update their membership. Registration starts at 7:00 a.m. Snacks will be served after the induction.

For inquiries, please call the undersigned, or any of the Association’s officers/directors. We will greatly appreciate your sharing of this information to others.

We look forward to your presence. Just in case you will not be able to attend, kindly fill out and return to us the Member’s Proxy Form.
