Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ!

Quality leadership has been an issue to many organizations in the world today. Like any other profession, librarians are confronted with problems that concerns leadership especially the passion to serve. With our desire to rekindle the spirit of leadership and service, the Cagayan and Kalinga-Apayao (CaAKAp) Librarians Association Inc. and the Department of Education Regional Office 2 Library will be conducting a National Summer Conference on “Rekindling the Spirit of Leadership Towards Better Library Environment“ to be held at Villa Victoria Hotel, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan on April 11-13, 2011

At the end of the conference, the participants are expected to: 1) have a better understanding of the culture of Filipino Librarianship, the strengths, weaknesses and opportunities for the librarians and libraries. 2) know and understand strategies that will enhance the management skills of librarians bring out the best in them in pursuit of better and quality service, 3) understand the concept of management 2.0 as applied in the library environment

, 4) understand the present condition of libraries in the Philippines including the challenges and trend, 5) to rekindle the passion to serve of librarians to become more active in the activities of their own organization, 6. To know possible means of expanding the social circle among librarians and libraries.

In the morning of the second day, there will be a growth session for all the participants focusing on the topic “Rekindling the passion to serve: Librarians Making the Way”. Further, on the last day, the CaAKAp Librarians Association shall be electing the new sets of officers for 2011-2013. In this regard, may I invite you to attend and join us in this memorable occasion for this will be an avenue for us to revisit the present state of Filipinio Librarianship and rekindle the desire to serve for our valued library users.

The conference fee is P3,500 (live in) inclusive of snacks, meals, accommodation and kit, P3,000 for live out participants (inclusive of snacks, meals and kit) and P2,000 for accompanying persons (inclusive of meals and accommodation).
